Lunatic Soul "Impressions" mini-site is now live!

Impressions is the new album from Lunatic Soul is now available to pre-order from the Kscope store. Lunatic Soul is the solo project from Riverside creative force and lead singer, Mariusz Duda.

Impressions, the third album from Lunatic Soul, follows 2010’s acclaimed II (White Album) and features a number of tracks written in the sessions for both that and the self titled (Black Album) debut in 2008.

Impressions will be released on CD and gatefold vinyl, pre-order from the Kscope store.

The new album Lunatic Soul “Impressions” available this Autumn!

October 10th, 2011 - that’s the date when, thanks to the British company Kscope, the newest record of Lunatic Soul project will have its premiere. „Impressions”, as Mariusz Duda, the author of the project, a singer and a musician of Riverside says, supplements the first and the second album. These are eight instrumental pieces which stylistically refer to the black-and-white diptych.

„These pieces were not rejected from the previous sessions; these are ideas which are at the same level of professionalism and were simply not recorded then. So it happened that this year I found some time to enter the studio again, finish what I couldn’t look into before and create totally new music sceneries. The compositions are only instrumental and that’s why the album gets such a distinct character. At the beginning we were thinking about adding these pieces as B side to black and white albums when reissuing them. However, we’ve managed to bring to life a music combination which was so interesting and original in its form that it deserved a separate publication. I’ve always wanted to publish an instrumental album and I haven’t been so satisfied with the final effect for a long time. I hope that this record, though short, will bring its listeners a lot of positive impressions.”

„Impressions” last 40 minutes and will be published both on a vinyl and a compact disc. It’s worth mentioning that on a CD one will find two additional remixes of „Gravestone Hill” and „Summerland” formed by Magda and Robert Srzednicki, who cooperate with Mariusz. The layout was prepared by Travis Smith, who collaborates with Riverside.

The album will be published only by the Kscope and will be distributed in Poland.
Soon you will be able to hear the music teaser from the new record and the new composition, about which we’ll inform you as soon as possible!

Below you’ll find what the tracklist includes:

Lunatic Soul - Impressions

1. Impression I - 5’29
2. Impression II - 4’04
3. Impression III - 7’03
4. Impression IV - 3’57
5. Impression V - 5’02
6. Impression VI - 7’33
7. Impression VII - 3’13
8. Impression VIII - 4’24

9. Gravestone Hill (remix) 3’51
10. Summerland (remix) 4’26

New Lunatic Soul release this year!

Lunatic Soul - "Impressions"

Impressions" is a collection of instrumental compositions, an addition to the story told on the black and white Lunatic Soul albums. Those songs without lyrics, with scarce vocal parts limited to being just a background, are more ambient in style, resembling a soundtrack to a film or a video game. The titles of those new compositions are linked to the lyrics and themes introduced in the black and white diptych.

MD: Since the beginning I´ve treated Lunatic Soul as music for a film. Unfortunately, if anybody wanted to create a soundtrack out of it, it wouldn´t be possible because of the small number of instrumental pieces. When we were recording the black and the white album, we composed a lot more material that later for different reasons was not included on the albums. Now nothing stops us to gather them together into a unified whole and release them on additional CD's. I think that thanks to this the whole story will gain the adequate depth and character. At first we thought that "Impressions" would be divided into two parts and added to the new releases of the black and white albums. But after hearing the first part the Kscope team suggest to gather them all together and create a separate album. I thought It would be really cool idea.

Lunatic Soul "Impressions" will be a limited number release available through Kscope , scheduled for Oct 10th.

Lunatic Soul II - Album of the month in Eclipsed magazine!!!

We're very pleased to inform that "Lunatic Soul II" has been chosen album of the month in the latest issue of a prestigious German magazine Eclipsed. The album received 9/10 points in the November issue, and the song "Wanderings" from it is the first track on the CD added to the magazine.

It's worth reminding that in Eclipsed's 2008 best-CD-of-the-year top chart the first Lunatic Soul album reached a high 6th place.

We know the date and the tracklist of the new album!

October 25th, 2010 has been set as the release date of the second album of Lunatic Soul, a project conceived by Riverside's singer and bass player Mariusz Duda. The white album, a continuation of 2008's black album, constitutes the second and last part of the diptych about the journey through the underworld.

Mariusz Duda: It will again be a story about a journey through a place that exists somewhere in-between, enriched with new motifs and retrospections. A sort of a road movie about a lost soul. Musically speaking perhaps more intense and unsetting than the first part but with the predominance of certain space and lightness that can be--I hope so--associated with the colour white. Hence, the album is a sort of a continuation but certainly not a repetition.
